Mission Statement

The governing body and staff of Grace College believe that each pupil entrusted to their care should be given:

  1. The opportunity of developing a living and relevant faith in God, as He has revealed Himself to us in the Bible, and a concern for the spiritual and physical well-being of others.

  2. The opportunity of developing his/her academic potential to the fullest, where emphasis is placed on excellence of effort and achievement. Each child will be expected to give his/her "utmost for His Highest" in all spheres of school life.

  3. The opportunity of being taught by a team of dedicated, godly professionals who share the vision of the school.

  4. The opportunity of developing self-discipline in attitude and behaviour, and respect for all people, who have been created in the image of God. Courtesy and modesty in speech and conduct will be emphasised.

  5. The opportunity of being part of a family in which each pupil is individually nurtured, and shown love and understanding.

  6. The opportunity of receiving a well-rounded education, where not only academic subjects are stressed, but cultural and practical ones are also offered and equally valued.

  7. The opportunity of participating in a variety of sporting and outdoor activities, to encourage physical well-being and an appreciation for the wonders of the natural world.

The Mission Statement of Grace College states clearly we believe each pupil entrusted to our care should be given the opportunity of developing a living and relevant faith in God, as He has revealed Himself to us in the Bible, and a concern for the spiritual and physical well-being of others. This implies that the Christian dimension of Grace College is not to be seen as an option, an add-on or something nominal, but is at the core of the reason for the school's existence. The Statement of Principles adopted in November 2002, makes it clear that Biblical truth informs and undergirds everything that is done at Grace College.

Statement of Principles

  1. To ensure that the core ideology, as outlined in the Mission Statement, is never lost and only to employ those who will align themselves with it, unreservedly.

    • "We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labour, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me." Colossians 1:28-29

  2. To ensure that people feel genuinely cared for and are shown love as we teach and live the truth of Jesus Christ.

    • "And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands." 2 John 6

  3. To remain relevant while maintaining an unswerving commitment to Jesus Christ and the Word of God, allowing Biblical truth to permeate every subject.

    • "And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place." 2 Peter 1:19-21

  4. To pray and venture in faith continually beyond what we could do in our own strength.

    • "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1

  5. To ensure that right relationships always mark out a Grace College person, putting God first and others (staff, parents and pupils) next.

    • "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Philippians 2:3-4

  6. To prepare pupils to serve the community and impact their world through outreach opportunities and an awareness of current issues.

    • "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
