SCHOOL UNIFORM
Each pupil is a representative of the school and must take pride in his or her appearance. Parents are requested to make sure that the correct items are acquired. School uniform will be worn at all times, when coming to school and returning home, at school functions and as spectators at school matches. Pupils may come to school in ‘civvies’ only when permission to do so has been given by a member of staff. Emphasis should be on neatness and cleanliness of appearance.
1.1 Girls Hair:
- Hair must look natural, without re-growth or any exotic colours (Including black).
- Hair is to be tied back if shoulder length or longer.
- The fringe must be clipped back if it gets in the eyes.
- Only brown, Hunters’ green or navy clips may be used.
- No gel may be used.
- Braiding of hair is only permitted for pupils of colour
- Braiding may not be of exotic colour or in an exotic style.
- Braiding may only be tied up in pigtails or in a pony
Boys Hair:
- Boys’ hair must be well groomed, must look natural, without re-growth or any exotic colours. (including black)
- No styling with gel is permitted.
- Exotic hairstyles or step cuts are not permitted.
- Hair is to be tapered and shaped and may not extend on to the ears or collar. A no: 4 is the shortest cut permitted.
- Boys of colour are permitted to shave their heads. No ‘afro styles’ are permitted and hair must be combed.
- Boys may not have any braided hair.
- Boys are to be clean-shaven every day.
- Boys not clean shaven will be asked to go home immediately to shave or shave at school with shaving kit supplied by the school.
NB. PLEASE NOTE. Both boys and girls who dye their hair a different colour will be removed from school until the hair has been returned to the natural colour.
- Jewellery:
No jewellery other than watches and medical identification may be worn. Girls may wear plain studs or sleepers (silver or gold only) in the ear lobe (one earring per ear).
No other body piercing is permitted, including tongue rings / bristles. - Make-up:
No make-up or nail polish may be worn. All pupils are to keep their fingernails neatly groomed. - Uniforms:
On arriving at school and leaving school the full uniform of the day must be worn in the car park area and anywhere in public.
Accessories
Navy gloves may be worn in Terms 2 and 3 on cold days.
Scarves may be worn in Terms 2 and 3 only. Grades 8-11 may wear navy blue and matrics may wear white scarves.
No decorated or oversize watches will be permitted. - General:
All pupils’ clothing, books and other possessions are to be clearly marked. Lost property may be collected from the Receptionist. - Monitoring of Uniform
The pupil’s appearance will be monitored by both staff and the matric leadership team.
Pupils are expected to abide by the uniform stipulations and be prepared to face any consequences as a result of not wearing the correct uniform.
BOYS’ UNIFORM
Formal:(Every Monday and for School Outings)
- White Collared Shirt (Long or Short Sleeved)
- Khaki Trousers (School supplied)
- Brown Leather Belt
- School Tie
- Blazer and Navy Jersey (if necessary)
- Brown Lace-up Shoes and School Socks
- Navy Scarves during 2nd & 3rd terms only
Informal: (Tuesday to Friday)
- Green Golf Shirt (Grade 8 – 11)
- Navy Golf Shirt (Grade 12 Only)
- Khaki Trousers (School supplied)
- Brown Leather Belt
- Brown Lace-up Shoes and School Socks
- Navy Scarves during 2nd & 3rd terms only
Notes
- Tracksuits must be worn for all sporting events – matches
- A Drimac may be worn on wet days and must be worn over the blazer on a Monday
GIRLS’ UNIFORM
Formal: (Every Monday and for School Outings)
- White Collared Shirt (Long or Short Sleeved)
- Khaki Skirt
- School Tie
- School Blazer and Navy Jersey (if necessary)
- Brown school Shoes and School Socks (White anklets during 1st and 4th terms and long khaki socks during 2nd and 3rd terms)
- Stockings –Bare beige or blackmail with socks.
- Navy Scarves during 2nd & 3rd terms only
Informal: (Tuesday to Friday)
- Green Golf Shirt (Grade 8 – 11)
- Navy Golf Shirt (Grade 12 Only)
- Khaki Skirt
- Brown Shoes and School Socks (as above)
- Full Tracksuits may be worn during 1st term on cold days, during 2nd and 3rd terms, and at the beginning of the 4th term.
- Stockings –Bare beige or blackmail with socks.
- Navy Scarves during 2nd & 3rd terms only
- Jersey/Padded Jacket/Drimac (Cold / Wet Days)
- It is a matric privilege to wear only stockings without socks to school.
- Girls skirts are not to be shorter than 10 cm from the floor when kneeling. Skirts may not be worn rolled up.
- Matric girls may wear stockings without socks to school.
- Girls opting to wear a tracksuit to school must wear both the top and bottom on the day. No tops allowed with other uniform options.
Matrics:
- Navy blue golf shirts
- White Jerseys in place of navy ones
- White scarves
- Matric Ties
The above items are available from our school uniform shop except for the white shirts, school shoes, and brown belts for boys.
